Red Alert 3 is coming... |
|
Finaly my favorite C&C is also getting an update. RA3 is on its way. That means, hopefully, a comback of crazy unit designs and I would love to see some cheese real acted cutscenes like back in these days.
This seams to be a good year for PC gameing. Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, C&C3 addon, Spore....I think there where other titles I am waiting for but don't remember at the moment.

Oh my god, yes! I just saw this a couple days ago myself. As long as Tanya is present and kicking ass, I'll be happy.
I wonder if it will have the tongue-in-cheek attitude of RA2 or go back to taking itself somewhat seriously like the original RA. I don't really care, 'cause both games were ridiculously awesome.
Oh wait, besides Tanya, no Red Alert is complete without the freakin' "Hell March". Best video game theme ever. I loved the "Hell March 2" with RA2 (not as much as the original theme but it was still awesome), so I'm hoping they make a "Hell March 3" to go along with RA3.

I have allready seen the screenshots. What makes me wonder are the units and factions mentioned in to article.
Japanese as third faction...might be interesting.
The units are definitly strange?!
Folgende Einheiten sind bisher bekannt:
# Cyberbear-Parashot
# Samurais with Lightsabers
# Airtransport-Transformer
# Samurai with big Plasmaguns
A bit on the odd side aren't they?

Indeed they are. I remember in RA2 the Allies had the Dolphins you could command to... do something. I don't even remember what it was, it was just cool that you could have a Dolphin Squad.
Sounds like they're going all out on the "out-there" units this time around. I believe it was along the lines of "imagine if every strange military scientific development had born fruit." From the sound of it it seems they're going more for the "tongue-in-cheek" mood that I mentioned earlier, from those units at least.

The dolphins where against the russian mind controled kraken ^_^
Things like this where allways the part that made RA so much fun to play.

I really need to go back and play the original. That was some damn fine gaming from my youth. One of the games that got me started in the first place.
So I guess the story is along the lines of the Soviets going back in time (yay more time travel) to change history in their favor, and in fact producing a World War III between the Allies, Soviets, and Japan. That's what I got from Kotaku at least.
Nothing will ever beat seeing Einstein go back in time to kill Hitler in the original RA, though.
